Rob: Rob here, at etrailer.com. And today you’re going to be taking a look at the CIPA Universal Clip On Towing Mirror on our 2019 Ford F-150. Now having a towing mirror is going to be a really nice thing when you’re pulling a trailer. You’re going to be able to watch your trailer and watch those back tires around turns and just make it a little bit easier to see when we’re going down the highway. When we need to change lanes, our mirror is going to give us that extended view so we can safely make that lane change without potentially causing an accident or just spooking somebody behind us.So here I am at the back of my trailer. Now you can clearly see me in the factory mirror, but as soon as I start to step away to the side, you’re going to lose track of me.

But that’s where our towing mirror is going to help out. It’s going to give us that wider field of view so that we can see a little bit further out so when we’re going down the highway we can change lanes. Or even back our trailer up. Especially when we make those really tight turns, as soon as we get around that turn and our trailer starts to swing, we’re going to end up looking at the side of our trailer rather than the back of it.So those towing mirrors are really going to help out making sure we can watch our tires, not run over the curbs, and again, make it a lot easier to park our trailer as well. Our towing mirror’s going to give us that extended view because it’s going to be seven and a half by four and three quarter inches.

So we’re going to have a pretty good area to see everything behind us.Now it’s going to be held in by a couple of straps and it’s just going to hold onto the mirror housing itself, but you can see it’s not going to interfere with our factory glass at all. Now our mirror’s going to have a lot of adjustment to it. The arms here, we can loosen up this knob. We’ll be able to adjust the arms up or down to accommodate taller mirrors or shorter mirrors. On our F-150, it is a pretty tall mirror, so we haven’t extended a good amount.

And the rubber straps are also going to help secure it in place. The rubber is going to make sure that it doesn’t scratch or have any kind of damage to our factory mirror, but it’s also going to hold on really well. Now I know there’s times where we all have that situation where we need to fold our mirrors in and save a little bit of room. Now we don’t have to remove our towing mirror to fold our mirrors in. Just keep in mind that if your window is up, you’re not going to be able to fold it all the way in because it isn’t going to make contact. But since our window is down, you can see it’ll fully fold in without touching anything. And the nice thing about the design is it’s not going to block our factory blinker over here on the side of our mirror.

But our puddle lamp, depending on where your straps are routed, it may cover up the puddle lamp in the bottom of the mirror. So if you’ve been telling your trailer, you don’t have any kind of extended view mirrors or anything else, it can be a little nerve wracking. And just having that extended view will definitely give you the confidence to get down the road better and not have to worry so much about your trailer. And really what I like about these the best is the fact that they are a universal design. So chances are if you have another vehicle in your family that you tow with, these might fit that as well. They’re going to be extremely easy to install. In fact, let’s go ahead and put the driver’s side on together. To start out we want to grab our mirror. We’re going to open up the arms. And we’ll come to this knob here, we’re going to loosen it up. And that’ll allow us to slide the arms back and forth and extend them since our mirrors and our F-150 are so tall. So I’m going to extend it out pretty far. And again, just make sure those arms are open. And then these tabs here, this is going to fit in between the mirror housing and the mirror glass. So we just want to come to the front of the mirror and slide it in place. So we’ll take our mirror, we’ll line up the tabs. And you kind of want to just hold it loosely in place with one hand. And we’ll take our st
